STOP 1 in Santa Barbara
Santa Barbara is an elegant city nestled in a hollow in the hills on the seafront in a protected wind by the Santa Ynez Mountains as well as the waves and the breath of the Pacific Ocean. It is a mediterranean climate, with many days of sunshine and mild winters. Shaded streets, bougainvillea invade the city and mingle with birdsong. STOP 2 in Ventura
Then head south east towards the warm city of Ventura at 55km. It has long been known to attract lovers of antiques and a curious new generation begins to discover microbreweries in the city, trendy restaurants, its thrift trendy shops and lively concerts. On the seafront, it is very popular with surfers. Stroll the waterfront, on the historic Ventura Pier. You can also take the boat to Packers Island to join the Channel Islands National Park.
STOP 3 in Santa Monica
Continue to the south and the ultra cool Santa Monica at 100km and its neighboring community Venice beach. They offer unique beaches, surfing and shopping.
Try to plan your visit in Santa Monica during its exceptional farmer's market, often referred to as one of the best in the country. You will meet head chef making their purchases, see cooking demonstrations. Put your appetite by taking the bike path Marvin Braude Bike Coastal Trail, which runs 35 km between Santa Monica and Torrance, further south.
Otherwise walk to the adjacent pedestrian Third Street Promenade, which hosts the big names of fashion, art galleries, film and comedy shows.

STOP 4 in Long Beach
South go to Long beach at 48 km which perfectly blends urban sophistication and seaside entertainment.
Admire the impressive Queen Mary liner, which offers special exhibitions, restaurants, accommodations and visit the fabulous Aquarium of the Pacific.
Finally, sit on the beach in Huntington Beach at 26km away, nicknamed "Surf City, USA" to relax in the evening.
STOP 5 in Laguna Beach
By going to Crystal Cove State Park go through Costa Mesa for shopping. Malls with luxury brands rub shoulders with independent boutiques.
Walk along the 5 km of coastline of the park and find your own paradise sand with natural pools with emerald colours and docile waves. Small old houses by the sea, restored rustically offer cozy rooms. These cabins are very popular, be patient for rent one.
Continue for a few kilometers to the south to Laguna Beach : its high-quality art galleries, restaurants by the sea, romantic inns and large resorts. Please enter in the quiet galleries of Laguna Art Museum, which offers an excellent collection of contemporary works signed by California artists like Wayne Thiebaud and David Gilhooly.

STOP 6 in San Diego
Finally 55 km from here, finish your trip to San Diego, the sunny city with a endless coast.
Mission Bay and San Diego Bay border the city and allows you to enjoy the water in your way: kayaking, stand-up paddle, motorboat, sailboat or kite-boarding. You can also opt for a cruise. The tours organized by Hornblower and Flagship Cruises companies offer a splendid view of the bay. An option with brunch or dinner is also proposed.
Mission Beach, the narrow strip of land between Mission Bay and the Pacific Ocean, is a patchwork of surf shops, T-shirts stalls and lively beach bars, and offers a 4.8 km walk sea side.
